Did you ever wonder what it was like to be a boy in George Washington's time? What did boys do? What did they eat? What games did they play? What was life like for them? Did you know that boys as young as 7 years old served as drummers and messengers in the Revolutionary War?
Please join us at the Hoyt Scout Reservation in West Redding (about a 30 minute drive) on Saturday, October 25th from 9am-3:30pm for The Battle of Hoyt - Cub Scout Field Day. We will take our Cub Scouts' families back to the Colonial and Revolutionary War time featuring Sheldon's Horse, 2nd Continental Light Dragoons. Optional family camping too! The event will end at 10am on Sunday, October 26th.
This event is open to all Cub Scouts, Tigers through Webelos. Cost, which is $15 per person (including adults), includes use of Hoyt, patch, program stations, supplies, snacks. Meals are not provided so bring a bag lunch and supplies for dinner. Scouts should wear their Class B T-shirts (or any comfortable shirt if they don't have a Class B). Siblings welcome.
