For the price of $17 you will get a hearty pancake breakfast with sausage and a beverage, a morning of fishing with a two-trout limit and a commemorative event patch. Prizes will be awarded to the first 75 youths who catch two trout prior to 11:00 a.m. A special drawing will be held at 11:30 for the derby winners. Breakfast will be available for $5 to anyone who wants to participate but not fish. For a small extra fee, a hamburger/hot dog lunch will be available from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. Bait and lures will be sold on site for your convenience. All you need to do is bring your fishing pole and join the fun.
Camping reservations must be made separately, at an additional charge, using the online reservation system available at ctyankee.org.
Cub Scout/Webelos participants may use this opportunity to earn the Fishing Belt Loop or work on requirements for the Fishing Sports Pin. To register for the three day class, use the registration form available below. Registration is limited to 650 participants and the event is held rain or shine. Registrants will receive a confirmation email prior to the event. Print it out and bring it to the Derby to use the "Fast Lane" for check in.
This training focuses on how to run successful Den Meetings. Training will include information on changes in Advancement with the new Cub Scout program. This training fulfills the requirements to be considered a TRAINED LEADER. All scouts deserve trained leadership.
Come join us as we vie for the title of "Powahay's Toughest Cub Scouts"! We'll spend an afternoon at the Hoyt Scout Reservation navigating a giant inflatable obstacle course, running the Cub Scout Olympics, learning how to cook with foil on a campfire, running relays in a giant 8 foot ball, learning BB gun safety, earning Weather and Science and Cryptography belt loops, and many other fun-filled activities!
