Darien Pack 161 is invited for an EXTREME SLEEPOVER in NYC!!
Please see Announcement below. Our numbers are at 28-30. We have plenty of room, but cutoff date to register is October 11 and we need 50 to ensure this is a private event. Please register under Event Registration on the right side of the home page.
Pack 161 is run 100% by the volunteer efforts of a handful of dedicated parents. Next January, when the next round of Webelos crosses over to Boy Scout Troop 35, we will need to fill several key roles within the Pack leadership. There also may be several den leader positions open.
The Pack depends on parents to continue offering the fun and educational programs that all our scouts enjoy...
Please contact Michael Yoo or Scott Lucas at cspack161@gmail.com if you are interested!!
The Boy Scout Motto is ..... Be Prepared. Remembering this....
Was speaking with Powahay district about the Camporee. The latest weather forecast is calling for developing rain starting Saturday afternoon through the night. This weekend's STEM campout is a rain or shine event. Please make sure that you and your Cubs are prepared for the weather.
If you are camping, please come prepared for rain (i.e., raincoats/ponchos, boots, tarps, tent with fly). Conditions Sunday morning may be wet and rainy. You may want to wait until Saturday afternoon to set up your camp to better access the weather.
While some Packs have changed their plans, I would suggest that we play it by ear and see how Saturday plays out. If conditions are fine, we stay, if they aren't we leave after the events. We are close to home and our campsite is 100 yards from the parking lot.
Please remember to car-pool. We do have alternate parking at 200 Pemberwick Rd, Greenwich. (Google or GPS for directions) if some of you want to caravan and then car pool in.
If you have any questions, please call or email me (and NOT the district) or Kristin Jordan.
Our Webelos 1s and 2s are planning to attend Powahay District's annual event, where our scouts are planning to earn Artist, Citizen, Communicator, Engineer, Scholar, and Nova/STEM pins!
